S# I save for when I really want to be in front. I really don't care for how it hunts when you are on the gas even a little, but it is okay if you are just "driving." Switching to "S" modes holds the shifts just enough to solve my gripes. As for the CVT, the "I" mode is only okay. Unfortunately, Cobb released the 2016 FXT maps in October, 2016 still have yet to see them for the 2017 FXT (my trade-in updated controller sits unused since September).Ĭar is not great, but not bad. Tilts the scales for me.ĭisclaimer: I replaced my 2012 WRX with a 2017 FXT. Oh yes! It is also built in Gunma Japan, the same plant where Fuji builds the Camry for Toyota. I wouldn't be buying it to impress anybody but just to give myself a relaxed Subi ride without the track day character of the STI. I didn't know what my reaction to the CVT would be -my first automatic since Hertz- but after a few miles not only did I get used to it but I liked it quite a bit. It comes with CVT only and no leather but sport seats with a grippy structure. Stopped at the local dealer today and drove a black '17 turbocharged, 250-hp Forester 2.0XT, their top of the line model, same engine as in the WRX and could receive the same Cobb Access Port 50+HP enhancements. (The Macan bit the dust until the Fed figures out where it wants to take the economy.) No secret that I am partial to the Fujis -I own a very hot '15 STI- and now I am lusting for a 5-door that combines the same 4WD and torque vectoring wet traction attributes of the STI but comes with a more relaxed DD attitude.
